i've known the man for ages. we dated for a while, a long time ago, and still hang with each other on occasion, despite his being a pathological bullshitter and a master dick to boot. everything i know about being kupal, i've learned from him. really. hands down, he may be one of the biggest jerks you'll ever meet, and he'll be the first person to tell you that.
then again, he can also be witty and charming and vivacious in an
i'mtheshit! sort of way. and when push comes to shove, when you very least expect it, he's actually capable of being the fiercest protector a girl could ever hope to have. that, however, fails to dismiss the fact that most of the time, he's a prick of the highest degree that'll screw anything in a skirt, someone only an utter nincompoop would believe in.
but what if he's right? what if it's true that we're one of a kind, and because of that, we really do belong together, and that, due to our inherent selffuckedupness, no one else in the world will be able to understand and love us like we do each other?
*takes a long pensive pause*
*bursts out in giggles.* yeah right!
i mean, what bullshit! i know both myself and the bastard well enough. i also know that neither of us have a firm grip on the true meaning of love. i have nothing left to give, and his take on the said emotion is way too warped to count for anything. it just ain't going to fly, sister.
so.
i will have my fun, and he will have his. the sporadic date or two will go on, but basically, our individual lives (which don't include each other, thankyouverymuch) must be maintained. distance is key.
i'm not in love with the dork. believe me. don't get me wrong - in my own way, i'm very fond of him. he does his bit to keep me entertained, and truth be known, he's fairly useful in the event the occasional stalker meanders hereabouts. he amuses me, he challenges me, and he pisses me off to no end, too. in a strange way, i guess you could say the dink keeps me on my toes. but. that's. it. sure, he has the mutant ability to ruffle my feathers, and the fact that he can affect me by his mere existence must count for something. but the thing is, he's like the evil male version of myself, the superflake bastard prince who's around one moment and gone the next. not exactly the kind of person you want to depend on, honestly.
for now, i'm loving the fact that we're cool. no fights, no drama, no bullshit - just pure chill. after all, when we're good, we're awesome beyond belief. scintillating conversation, complementing kakulitan, and a strangely similar take on the world - these are things we share and have in common. in another place, in another time, maybe we would've been great.
bottom-line is, however, i just can't trust him. and that's that. we'll prolly keep hanging onto each other for trips and the sake of sentimental convenience, staying "friends" till one of us either gets married or moves away. we've been through much together and have known each other for far too long to truly let the other go for good.
honestly. i could just say yes, and end up being his girl again. it might actually be easier this time around. his insane jealousy would be assuaged by the fact that i barely have a life these days, and my daddycentric life would allow him his much loved independence. but so what? the pros of getting together with him far outweigh the cons. i know him too well to put my faith in him. so why even bother?
because we're "one of a kind"? because he personifies ubersexual excitement and the glory of the chase for the untamable? because he knows perfectly well how to handle me, my moods, my quirks, my sudden flashes of temper?
puhleese. not this this time around. despite my penchant for train wrecks, i really don't want to go there again.

i wasn't quite this wordy and ranty when he asked me back, though. instead, i got the giggles and told him he was out of his mind. ah well. he still got the message.

on a totally unrelated kwento.
if i showed up at your gate, caterwauling at the top of my ever loving lungs, destroying one christmas carol after another whilst banging on a tin can, would YOU give me money?
yeah.
i didn't think so.

so. apparently, two women who appeared to be of korean origin "stole the thunder" from the fratmen yesterday during the traditional oblation run at upd. masked and with only a piece of cartolina covering their lower genitals, they promoted equal rights for women and tailed the men during their 1 km run from quezon hall to a.s. (swing low, sweet chariot?). what's sauce for the gander is sauce for the goose, and all. but naturally, the frat wasn't too happy with the fact that the attention was diverted from their nekkid glory. "the event was supposed to be ours," their media liason wah'ed. god forbid two women who weren't even their sorority sisters got involved!
oh, boo fricking hoo. it's their event every single fricking year. no other frat runs around butt nekkid to the delight of squabillions of iskolars, the tv cameras, and everyone else who cares to watch a gaggle of guys swoop through the halls. so two women wanted in on the spotlight to promote their message. let 'em be. i say, good on them. let's not be selfish with the nekkidity, huh?

oh. my. god.
today has been such an awfully bad juju day. i am not kidding. first, flippy o'chuck screws up in the morning, thus causing me to oversleep, which meant that i had to take a bath, dress up, and get made up in fifteen minutes or less to save myself from the godawful traffic that hits c5 as early as 7 ayem (which is why we leave the house at 630). then i was idiotic enough to leave flippy in the hospital (there went my text twist). after that, on my way to south to buy milk and shampoo (oh, the things a girl needs), i almost rammed into a jeep (fricking asswipes) because i fell into a giant ass lubok and i was revving like mad to get out of it and god forbid a jeepney would make way for a private car, right?!? then, in south, i stubbed my toe TWICE (ispenpuuuuuuuuuul!!!!), and when i lined up to pay i realized my favorite credit card was missing from its slot. i panic, wondering if i left it in the bookshop i went to yesterday (yes, despite my IWILLNOTHITFULLYBOOKEDEVERAGAIN vows and cliff's attempt to spite me into nonshoppingdom, i went to fully booked, wherein i bought myself a copy of the watchmen - buti nalang i couldn't find a feast for crows, is all i can say). so i keep on panicking, knowing that i couldn't have slipped it into my jeans pocket, and that it wasnt in my bag, and ohmygodwhatifsomeonestolemycardhowamisposedtoshopeveragain?. i eventually found it (don't ask me why i slipped it into my wallet's secret pocket), except that now i am missing my spare phone. i know in my heart of hearts that i didn't leave it in the grocery because i used it on the way home to call my yaya, so there goes that consuelo de bobo. and part of me says i shouldn't worry, because chances are, i left it lying around the house, and my mom took it to teach me a lesson about how i should work on my pagkaburara. but still. i am now totally phoneless. totally. it's not a bad thing detaching yourself from the outside world once in a while, but i was expecting messages tonight, gedemit!!!!
in one word?
grrr.
on the upside, my toesies look pretty again, because i had a pedi just yesterday. but still. hinde ako mapakali. tang ina talaga. which bites, considering i have to be brighteyed and bushytailed tomorrow at 6ayem cos i'm going back to the hospital. dammitalltohell.

here's a totally unrelated kwento.
last week (or the week before that), a beautiful black cat with yellow eyes showed up in my house and adopted me. she purred, she wound herself around my legs, and made me her absolute slave. i have finally decided to name her eloise. she's such a sweetheart, and i'm not kidding, i am so in love. just don't tell raya.
***
there's a new line of havaianas, and it looks purty. i realized that spending a grand or more on chinelees is insane, but they're pretty, and i can't wait to get mine!
